We serve free, healthy meals and provide social connection for older adults in SLO County through 10 dining sites and homebound delivery🍽️

Danna and Tom volunteer at the Meals That Connect

Danna and Tom volunteer at the Meals That Connect Oceano site twice a week, they stepped up to help with a new route when some of the site’s regular drivers retired.

Danna has been volunteering with us for 10 years and consistently goes above and beyond for our clients. She takes the time to get to know each person and is always thinking of thoughtful ways to support them.

On one occasion, she stayed with a client whose husband had wandered off due to Alzheimer’s, helping her search until he was safely found.

We’re incredibly grateful for volunteers like Danna and Tom, whose kindness and dedication make such a meaningful difference.🙏🏼💛

April is National Volunteer Month, and we’re highlighting some of our fantastic helpers! Nan Guadiana is always dependable and knows exactly what to do in every situation — she keeps the Morro Bay site running smoothly.💛🙌

Site host Robert recounted that when their water pitcher went missing he hurried to the Dollar Store to replace it before the lunch rush, only to find that Nan was already there doing the exact same thing!🛒😄

Meals That Connect just launched a GoFundMe campaign! This spring we need your support as our government funding has been reduced by 34%, significantly impacting our core meal programs.

Across all funding sources, we are currently operating with 17% less support than at this time last year.
 We are turning to our community to help ensure we can continue serving meals to those who depend on us. Your generosity makes a tremendous difference for our seniors.💚
